It’s that time of year when we all start to look forward to the next release of FME.
As FME Evangelist I comb through every single change made to our products (I reviewed about 10,000 for 2012). From that I create the What’s New file, the What’s Great page, and - most importantly - I pick out the tastiest treats to serve to you here.
So, as a flavour of what is to come, here’s a list of my highlights so far for FME2013.
This post concentrates on three new XML transformers: the XMLFlattener, the XMLSampleGenerator, and the XMLUpdater.
XML has a bad reputation as being difficult to understand and complex to use. It is bizarre that something so simple and obvious to look at can simultaneously be difficult to understand and a pain to work with.
But it’s only a pain when you don’t have the right tools: and FME2012 provides tools that work efficiently, in a way that is user friendly to even the most casual XML user.
This post marks the last of the 2010 product specials, and describes some of the more useful updates we’ve made to existing FME transformers for the FME2010 release.
A week after FME2010 was launched, let’s look at some of the new transformers in that release, and look at some useful examples: from transit network density to XML metadata templates.
